In October, for Fire Prevention Week, the Fire Prevention Bureau and the Matawan Fire Department will be holding events in the schools and on Route 34 and Broad Street to promote Fire Safety.  Check the Borough website for the dates the Matawan Fire Deptartment will hold a coin toss and be giving out fire safety information in the Walgreen's parking lot on Route 34 and Broad Street.  The Matawan Fire Department will also be holding events throughout the day on Matawan Day, held each October on Main Street and Ravine Drive.
